High Temperature Tandoor

Several people have been asking me how is my latest Tandoor going and have I completed it yet? As you can see from the picture it is going well, but I haven’t finished it yet. After posting my last video a couple of months a go, I haven’t had a chance to do any more on it. Before Christmas I was having to do a lot of decorating around the house, and this month I have been concentrating on the website.  But I will be getting out in the garden in the coming weeks, and my first job is to make the insulated lid.

Yesterday I had to do some clearing up in the garden, and I had a lot of cut down tree to get rid of. So I decided to burn it in the Tandoor, and even though it was pouring with rain it worked a treat.

After I finished I decided to check the temperature of the walls, and I was impressed with the results. Note we are currently in winter, I had no lid to stop the heat escaping and it poured with rain all day. These temperature readings bode well.

Finally just before I went to bed I check the temperature again. This was 7 hours later, and with no lid on so all the heat could escape. Again impressive readings.
