Simple Pizza Oven for the Garden
by Nick ·
Now I am all about making garden ovens, so what am I doing reviewing a simple pizza oven for the garden brought from a shop? It is always good to check out the competition and see if there is anything you can learn from their build. I thought this was a good little oven, so wanted to share my findings with you. I know some of you don’t have time to make a pizza oven, and you might find this your preferred solution.
So why did I like it? Well to start the price was right at £90, it really was a simple pizza oven to use, and the results were fantastic as can be seen in the pictures below:
The design of the pizza oven is not rocket science, it is just a box with a chimney, with a pizza stone inside to cook the pizza on. You then just a lite a fire, and when the stone is hot enough you cook your pizza. A similar design to the Roccbox and Uuni you see being sold everywhere. You could even say it works no different to using a pizza stone in your kitchen oven. The big difference is using are burning wood, so you get that Smokey flavour, and you are cooking in the garden with your guests.
Here is a short video of be using the oven for the first time, and you can see how easy it was to lite, and how quick it was for me to master the oven.
Will I abandon my other ovens? Simple answer is NO! This is a simple pizza oven to use, gives great results and you can be cooking in fifteen minutes. But this oven is not really made to last, you can’t leave it in the garden exposed to the elements. You either must cover it or move it into a shed after use. Personally, I like my ovens to be on display, and be a feature of the garden
